- A type of clinical study conducted after phase I studies to evaluate a medicine’s effects in a particular condition and to determine its common short-term side effects. NOTE Qdossier: although these terms are still in use these are considered old-fashioned terms. The phases are not nessecariliy performed in sequential order.
