microheterogeneity
Guideline or reference source
ISO11238 IDMP Data elements and structures for the unique identification and exchange of regulated information on substances
Definition
substances isolated together that contain minor differences in glycosylation, or post-translational modification such as glycosylation or sequence heterogeneity   NOTE 1 Microheterogeneity is not a defining characteristic of either substances or specified substances.   NOTE 2 Microheterogeneity consists of variability in the type of glycosylation (biantennary, triantennary), extent of glycosylation at a given site (site occupancy), sequence heterogeneity due to polymorphism in source material, translation errors, variable proteolytic processing or other.
