- Definition
- A ranking, from lowest to highest, of the values of a variable and the resulting pattern of measures or scores, as these are often plotted on a graph. A frequency distribution, for example, gives the possible values of a parameter versus the number of times each value occurred in the sample or population. In many instances it refers to the spread of the individual values of a sample or population around the mean.
